In the centre of Hempstead, there are a range of amenities including a pharmacy, doctor’s surgery, Co-op convenience store, Indian restaurant and The Flying Saucer pub. 

In 1978 the area gained Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre. It has grown to have a multi storey car park and over 50 stores including supermarkets and well-known high street retailers such as Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s and TK Maxx. There is also a café and restaurant area which hosts popular choices like Costa, Bella Italia and Subway.

What is there to do in Hempstead?

One of the area’s oldest roads, Harrow road, is home to Hempstead Playing Fields and Pavillion. There’s free parking and with climbing frames, swings and slides, it’s great for the younger ones to run around.
